Company distinguished for excellence in technical and regulatory training

WOOD DALE, Illinois — AAR (NYSE: AIR) announced that it has earned the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA’s) Diamond Certificate of Excellence at eight FAA-certified repair station locations. The Diamond Certificate is the highest honor in the FAA’s Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Awards Program, which recognizes businesses and technicians that meet or exceed the FAA’s requirements for technical and regulatory training. More than 1,500 AAR AMTs earned individual recognition in the program.

“We are proud of our global team of AMTs for their initiative and commitment to ongoing professional development,” said Timothy J. Romenesko, President and Chief Operating Officer, AAR CORP. “We continue to invest in training and education to help employees sharpen their skills, keep pace with new technologies and provide higher levels of value for our customers.”

The announcement coincides with National Aviation Maintenance Technician (AMT) Day, which recognizes aircraft technicians in honor of Charles E. Taylor, who built and maintained the engine used to power the Wright brothers’ first controlled aircraft on December 17, 1903.

AAR was recently voted the Best Airframe MRO Provider — Americas by customers in ATE&M magazine’s 2012 Aircraft Technology Engineering and Maintenance Awards and named Aircraft Parts Supplier of the Year and one of the Top Five MROs in the world in an industry ranking conducted by Airline Economics magazine.
