Aviation newcomer to Florida’s Space Coast earns annual Impact Award

MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – AAR (NYSE: AIR) has been recognized by the Melbourne Regional Chamber of East Central, Florida, with its prestigious Impact Award for positively influencing the economic health of the community in the past year.

“AAR’s hard work and dedication to our nation and the economic health of our community are deserving of this special recognition,” said U.S. Representative Bill Posey (R-Rockledge). “I want to thank AAR for their commitment to excellence and their presence in Florida’s Space Coast.”

In April 2011, AAR relocated its Airlift headquarters and operations to Palm Bay and Melbourne. Today, AAR Airlift employs 280 in the area, with an additional 530 employees worldwide. AAR has made a significant investment in its presence in Melbourne and Palm Bay and provides a wide range of technical and professional career opportunities as a member of the Space Coast business community. AAR was also recognized as “Corporate Business of the Year” from the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce for its presence in Miami and its public-private partnerships with the Chamber and a local nonprofit to mentor at-risk high school students and introduce them to careers in aviation.
