AAR Recognized as a South Florida Business Leader

Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce names AAR “Corporate Business of the Year”

MIAMI – AAR (NYSE: AIR) was recognized as “Corporate Business of the Year” from the Miami-Dade Chamber of Commerce for its presence in Miami and its public-private partnerships with the Chamber and a local nonprofit to mentor at-risk high school students and introduce them to exciting careers in aviation.

AAR, a leading provider of products and services to the worldwide aviation, aerospace and defense industries, employs more than 1,300 people in Miami-Dade County, with operations in Medley and at Miami International Airport.

Together with the Chamber and City Year Miami, an education-focused nonprofit, AAR employees, managers and corporate leaders mentor students attending Miami Central Senior High School to enhance student attendance and achievement. The partnership has provided students with firsthand access to applied STEM careers in aerospace; connected students with higher education and industry leaders to explore employment opportunities after high school; and improved student performance.

Each year, the Chamber recognizes three organizations for outstanding contributions to the South Florida community. Accepting the award on behalf of the Company were Brian Loomer, General Manager of AAR Aircraft Services – Miami, and Pastor Lopez, Vice President and General Manager, AAR Landing Gear Services.

Public private partnerships are an important part of AAR’s growth strategy and long-term commitment to the Miami-Dade community. AAR has taken a leadership role by becoming actively engaged in introducing students to all types of career opportunities to while building a pipeline of talent for the future.
