Aerospace leader exhibits and presents at top forum for aviation professionals

ATLANTA – Aerospace industry leader AAR (NYSE: AIR) is showcasing its uniquely diverse portfolio of products and services for commercial, military and government customers during the Aviation Week MRO Americas 2013 conference, which opened today through Friday, April 18 in Atlanta.

Building its 1MROSM network across five cities in less than a decade, AAR has marshaled the resources to satisfy a vast array of aircraft needs, whether maintenance, engineering, supply chain or logistics. AAR’s 1MRO approach creates a seamless experience for customers, providing convenience, a familiar framework and consistent results. Most recently, AAR opened its northernmost MRO facility in Duluth, Minnesota, last November, complementing facilities in Indianapolis, Miami, Oklahoma City and Hot Springs, Arkansas.

Connecting its nationwide 1MRO network is an integrated information technology system that streamlines tracking, quality assurance and completion of projects across its MRO facilities. AAR’s IT system interfaces easily with most airlines’ systems, allowing customers to navigate within a familiar framework.

“AAR simultaneously offers flexibility and integration,” said Dany Kleiman, Aviation Services Group Vice President – Repair and Engineering. “It’s a formidable formula that our teams have worked diligently to achieve to provide improved support for customers. We’ll be elaborating on that in Booth 3321 at the Georgia World Congress Center.”

In addition to heavy maintenance, AAR is showcasing its cost-effective landing gear and component repair services, airframe, engine and parts supply services, and engineering innovations that range from modifying existing systems to designing new ones. AAR also offers a full range of MRO, logistics, cargo and transport products, services and systems for government and defense customers.

Breadth and depth allow AAR to customize solutions for a variety of fleet types and operational challenges, enhancing efficiency for airlines.

“Customers know they can count on top-notch, tailored and timely results whatever and wherever work is performed,” Kleiman said.

Through a series of strategic acquisitions and initiatives in recent years, AAR has become the largest independent provider of airframe maintenance in North America. Its growth is evidenced by an increase in man hours, from 3.1 million to over 4.5 million annually in the past two years.

AAR was voted the Best Airframe MRO Provider — The Americas in 2012, based on a survey of industry professionals by UBM Aviation, a leading provider of global aviation intelligence. AAR is a finalist for the same award this year. AAR also has been named Aircraft Parts Supplier of the Year in an independent survey of 11,000 airline executives and industry professionals.

At the Aviation Week MRO conference, AAR is serving on two Logistics & Supply Chain panels, one discussing “How to Effectively Use Incentives and Penalties in the Supply Chain” and another on “Trends in Supply Chain Management,” which Jack Arehart, Co-Chief Commercial Officer for AAR, will moderate.

On the MRO Military side, a panel on “Disruptive Innovation: How Emerging Innovations Can Drive Greater Defense Affordability” will be moderated by AAR’s senior vice president of Government and Defense Business Development, Lt. Gen. (Retired) Don Wetekam.
