AAR Expands Lightweight Mobility Platform Offerings to Include AM-2 Matting

July 12, 2017

CADILLAC, Michigan, July 12, 2017 – AAR (NYSE: AIR) has been awarded a $255 million Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract by Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support to provide the United States Navy, Air Force and Marine Corps with AM2 pallet and mat assemblies for expeditionary airfields. After a lengthy procurement process, DLA chose AAR Mobility Systems as one of the sources for these mission-critical items.

This contract, structured with a two-year base and three one-year option periods, offers DLA a fixed-price for an indefinite quantity over the life of the contract. It is funded through U.S. government fiscal year 2022 defense working capital funds.

“Innovative thinking led us to believe this lightweight rugged aluminum structure used for expeditionary airfields would be a good addition to our product portfolio,” said Lee Krantz, Senior Vice President, Mobility Systems. “While other AAR businesses provide commercial and government aircraft with services and sustainment, this product now allows AAR to say we’re a total solutions provider that has aircraft covered from the ground up.”
